"Surrey Common Sunset" Painting
An original 19th century watercolor painting by English artist Thomas Noel Smith (1840-1900). "Surrey Common Sunset" depicts a charming home nestled in a countryside setting with lush trees and an abundance of garden flowers through which a young child is coming to greet a woman walking along a country path. A family of ducks are in the foreground, and in the background low hills are turning blue as the sun sets.
The piece is signed in the lower left corner. It is presented in a bronze wood frame, most likely the original frame, and the matting has fine hand tooled lines. Painting is 13 3/4" x 10"; framed the piece is 22" x 19".
