Trigger Point or Relaxation Massage
|Donor:||Nourishing Touch Massage|
Come enjoy a 1 1/2 hour long massage focused on pain relief caused by muscle overuse and/or a relaxation massage with Karen Waters, RN & CMT. The two modalities can be mixed.
A "trigger point" is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain locally or refers to other parts of the body. Trigger points are caused by muscle overuse or injury, holding emotional stress, repetitive motion or bad posture. This style of Trigger Point work entails 7-12 massage strokes over each trigger point or knot in the muscle. This initiates a release and your body does the rest by increasing blood flow to the area, allowing for healing. Karen also teaches self-treatment to those interested clients so they can hasten their healing process and have the ability to relieve their own pain. Her practice is based in The Woolen Mill in Winooski.
